Human Design Showed Me I'm Not Built for Corporate

I get asked about twice a month: "How did you get into Human Design?"

Human Design is a newer self-discovery system that was founded in 1987 by Ra Uru Hu. And it found me in 2022, when I booked a birth chart reading for my birthday not realizing it also included a Human Design reading 😂

‍ ‍

I went into this birth chart reading hoping to get clear on what's my ONE THING. All my life, I felt insecure for not having that ONE thing I was a "master" of. The shelf life of most hobbies lasted 1-2 years then I would move on. I was an EMT, I used to rock climb, I did one season of track & cross country, I played ukulele, I was in the environmental club, I was a swimmer, I ran a charcuterie board IG, and I was realllllly into learning Japanese for a time.

Then in my Human Design Reading, she said: you're a Manifesting Generator. You're a multi-passionate builder. The skills you accumulate from all of your experiences may intertwine or may simply serve their purpose in that chapter of your life.

‍ ‍

So I went in, hoping to get an answer on "WHAT'S MY THING" and the charts basically said "YOU'RE NOT MEANT TO HAVE JUST ONE THING!"

Honestly, it was a relief. I felt so seen. I didn't have to force myself into the model of success I saw in others: the Generators of the world who become well known through their dedicated mastery (Oprah, Albert Einstein, Andy Warhol to name a few)

As a Man-Gen, my energy sinks when I'm boxed into one path, one thing. Which is why I could never do it. (And why I love entrepreneurship: I can switch from CEO to Coach to Yoga Teacher to Meditation Producer to Event Planner to Accountant 😂)

I can take a few detours in my path, intentionally mash a few of my passions together and create unique offerings that blend ALL parts of me! (Hence the Astrology - Yoga - Meditation - Human Design - Somatic mosaic that is Awake In Wellness!)

Which is why I always say… Human Design releases the comparison trap

The Truth Is, the Corporate Environment Doesn't Support How We're Designed

‍ ‍

Human Design shows us how our energetic DNA operates. When we are aware of how our unique energy is meant to be applied, life becomes SO much easier. We can exist in the world, exactly as we are.

‍ ‍

⬆️ Attract abundance ⬇️ Decrease resistance 🌅 Live in authentic freedom

‍ ‍

Most people are in corporate roles that are misaligned to their natural energy flow (my heart goes to the Projectors/Manifestors/Reflectors in 9-5s right now 🥲)

‍ ‍

So for me, when you're forced into one job title in the corporate world as a Manifesting Generator… you get bored & drained! Writing code day in, day out was NOT doing it for me. I struggled following some random VP's vision that I barely resonated with. I need to have multiple exciting projects going on, that I truly cared about. I need to work on what lit my sacral center up and gives me LIFE. When I pour my life force energy into what excites me, I'm unstoppable and in turn, this fuels those around me.

So being in a role that drained me, was not only doing a disservice to me… but a disservice to the world around me. When Generators/Manifesting Generators roam the world with a depleted life force, we bring down the frequency of those around us.

So let this be your reminder, Generators & Man-Gens: you being SATISFIED, LIT UP AND EXCITED literally uplifts the planet.

Human Design Validated My Decision to Transition

When I learned and fully integrated my Birth Chart & Human Design, my MIND was able to understand and fully embrace who I truly am, at my core. And how corporate software engineering would quietly destroy that core, until nothing was left of me.

‍ ‍

This self-discovery system put language to what I felt my whole life, and gave me the cognitive confidence to "logically" take the leap and leave corporate. Remaining grounded yet spiritual.
